Red, white, and blue never looked so adorable! Our patriotic mini sessions were a hit, with little ones dressed in their finest Americana outfits. These festive photos are perfect for celebrating the spirit of independence. Living in the Spring Lake and Fort Liberty community, the Fourth of July carries extra meaning for so many of the families I work with — military families especially. That's part of why these patriotic minis are some of my favorite sessions of the year. There's something so sweet about a toddler in a star-spangled romper clutching a tiny flag, or siblings giggling together with sparklers and bubbles in the golden evening light. Patriotic mini sessions are short, themed sessions — around 15 to 20 minutes — with a styled setup ready to go, so all you have to do is show up and let your kids be kids. They're a wonderful way to mark the season, refresh your family photos, and create keepsakes that feel both festive and timeless. If you're planning outfits, you don't need head-to-toe stars and stripes; in fact, a little restraint photographs better. Try one pop of red, white, or blue per person against soft neutrals — a denim dress with a red bow, a simple white tee with chambray, cream and navy with a single flag accent. Vintage-inspired Americana (think classic stripes and gingham) always looks charming and never dates. Time it around naps so everyone arrives cheerful, and come ready for a relaxed, playful few minutes rather than stiff posing. These sessions are popular and the spots are limited, so they book early each summer.
